The Operating Engineers Local 101 Fringe Benefit Funds administers benefit plans established by collective bargaining agreements with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Hoisting and Portable Local Union 101, AFL-CIO and the Heavy Constructors Association of the Greater Kansas City Area.

The Boards of Trustees has delegated day to day operations of the Funds to the Plan Administrator, CompuSys Inc. The primary goal of the Trustees, Plan Administrator and this website is to provide you with the most up to date information about your benefit plans.

Important Information Regarding Your 2022 1095B Tax Form

Due to a change in the tax law, the Fund will not be automatically mailing you a 2022 1095b form. Effective with the 2019 tax year, the IRS penalty was reduced to zero for individuals with no health coverage, therefore the form is no longer required in order to file your federal income tax return. However, a request for a paper form can be made by contacting the Fund Office at (816)737-5959.

The following Funds, administered by a Joint Board of Trustees, provide health coverage, retirement and vacation benefits.

Operating Engineers Local 101 Pension Fund, established September 1, 1964 is a multiemployer, defined benefit retirement plan. Once vested, the Plan provides income to Participants in their retirement years. Benefits vary according the Participant's years of service, age at retirement and benefit options selected at retirement.

The Operating Engineers Local 101 Health and Welfare Fund which began in 1962 provides Participants and their eligible dependents with medical, dental, prescription and vision coverage. In addition, weekly short term disability benefits and death benefits are available to the Participant in the case of a life event.

The Operating Engineers Local 101 Vacation Fund, initiated in January, 1970, disperses benefits to the Participant twice a year. Employer contributions submitted pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreements on the Participant's behalf are credited to the Participant's account. Each June and December the contributions are paid to the Participant at the address on file at the Fund office.
